A little about Ayumi....
In the story of Hachikuro, the main characters all attend an art college in Japan. Yamada Ayumi is first introduced as a beautiful girl with a temper (she doesn't mind kicking guys to the curb), which has also earned her the nickname 'Iron Girl'. She was initially nicknamed 'Iron Girl' because in her freshman year of college she was often seen jogging everywhere to give her dog exercise since he was on a diet. *L*
Ayumi also has a HUGE love for Mayama. Unfortunately this love is unrequited since Mayama is desperately in love with the woman he interned for, Rika. She is close friends with both Hagumi and Morita. With Hagu-chan being the only other female in the group, they bonded quickly (especially over their passion for wierd and disgusting food concoctions). Morita often is seen comforting Ayumi while she agonizes over her feelings for Mayama.
Ayumi is a very talented sculpter, and all her classmates hold her in awe. Her work is done so well she even gets a contract position with the design firm that Mayama works at to make all the pottery for their building projects. While doing this Ayumi meets Nomiya, one of Mayama's co-workers and he becomes interested in dating her. Of course this sparks jealousy for Mayama, although he still claims that he only views Ayumi as a friend.
